password with heartbeats

Researchers have developed a biometric system based on analyzing a person's heart size, shape, and rhythm. This system uses a Doppler radar to scan the heart in eight seconds and can then continue to identify a person using this unique information. It has a success rate of 98% on 78 volunteers and can identify a person at a distance of up to 30 meters. The waves emitted by the system are significantly lower than those of Wi-Fi and represent less than one percent of the radiation emitted by a smartphone. Although the use of the heart as a biometric element is not new, previous work has mainly focused on pulse in the hands. The researchers now need to miniaturize their device to be able to integrate it into mobile terminals or computers
