 Researchers have developed a biometric system based on analyzing a person's heart size, shape, and rhythm. This system uses a Doppler radar to scan the heart in eight seconds and can then continue to identify a person using this unique information. It has a success rate of 98% on 78 volunteers and can identify a person at a distance of up to 30 meters. The waves emitted by the system are significantly lower than those of Wi-Fi and represent less than one percent of the radiation emitted by a smartphone. Although the use of the heart as a biometric element is not new, previous work has mainly focused on pulse in the hands.
